Mykola Tomenko: Ukraine should have a Common Humanitarian Policy
Asked about the subjects of responsibility for the humanitarian policy in Ukraine, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, responded that the acting Government has no official in charge of the social and humanitarian policy, as it used to be in the former governments. He reminded that all the deputy prime ministers share the authorities in the humanitarian and social sector.
Mykola Tomenko considers it to be a drawback of the governance model. "The outlook of the officials in charge of the humanitarian policy is so different that one author of the humanitarian policy seems to represent Russia, while the other one Ukraine," he admitted. "There can not be three humanitarian policies in the Ukrainian State. There should be a common policy." The Deputy Chairman believes that the President shall clarify this matter.
